Framing Choices

Partial Overlay
The most recognizable characteristic of a partial-overlay cabinet is the consistent 2â strip of the frame visible between the doors and drawers. The doors sit on top of the frame and have a small gap. Keep in mind your doors and drawer faces will be smaller this option. These are often the least expensive option.

Usually the most expensive option, inset doors and drawers are set into the cabinet frame and fit flush with the face of the cabinet when closed. Hardware is needed with inset cabinetry, since there is no space between doors and doors to pull. With this type of door, the hinges can either be concealed or exposed for an accent detail.
